Privacy Policy
Last updated October 8, 2026
ShootWrap helps photographers move a shoot from memory card to client gallery. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. In short: your photos stay in your own Google Drive, we don’t sell your data, and we don’t show ads.
1. Who we are
ShootWrap is operated by SJ Photography (“we”, “us”). If you have a question about this policy or your data, email sjphotography.us@gmail.com.
This policy covers the ShootWrap website and web app, the ShootWrap desktop app, client galleries, and the ShootWrap marketplace.
2. What we collect
Your account. Your name, email address and, if you sign in with Google, your Google profile photo. You can also sign in with an emailed link instead.
Google Drive access. When you connect Google Drive, ShootWrap asks only for the drive.file permission. That lets us create a ShootWrap folder in your Drive and read and write the files ShootWrap itself puts there. We can’t see, open or change anything else in your Drive.
Your shoots and photos. Shoot details you enter (name, date, type, location, client name), and the photos and videos you upload. Original files are stored in your Google Drive, not on our servers. To show your shoots and galleries quickly, we keep small copies of each image (a thumbnail about 400 pixels wide and a preview about 2048 pixels wide) and the details of each file (name, size and a checksum, used to confirm the upload arrived intact).
Editors. If you invite an editor, we store their email address and which shoots and folders they can work on. Editors who join have their own ShootWrap account.
Client galleries. When someone opens a gallery link you share, we count the view. If they mark favourites, we store those along with a random ID kept in their browser, not their name or email. We see the IP address of every request, which we use to stop abuse.
The marketplace. If you publish a marketplace profile, what you put on it (business name, location, prices, photos, bio, links) is public. When someone sends an enquiry, we store their name, email, event date, location and message, and pass them to the photographer they contacted.
The waitlist. If you ask for Founding Member access, we store your answers (name, email, city, and anything optional you add) and where you came from, if the link you used said (for example “?ref=ig”).
Billing. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We keep your Stripe customer ID, your plan, subscription status and renewal or trial dates.
Technical data. Our servers record basic logs (time, page or API requested, IP address, browser type) to keep ShootWrap running and secure.
3. How we use it
- To run ShootWrap: upload and organise shoots, give editors access, build and show galleries, and process downloads.
- To send emails you’d expect: sign-in links, editor invitations, “edits are ready”, gallery links, enquiries and note digests.
- To bill your subscription and manage your trial.
- To keep ShootWrap secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To contact you about your account, and, if you joined the waitlist, about your invitation.
We don’t sell your personal information, we don’t show ads, and we don’t use your photos to train AI models.
4. Google user data
ShootWrap’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We use Google data only to provide the features described here: signing you in, and storing and fetching your shoot files in the ShootWrap folder of your Drive. People don’t read your Drive files except when you ask us for help, when needed for security, or when the law requires it. We don’t use Google data for advertising.
You can remove ShootWrap’s access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, or with Disconnect in ShootWrap’s Settings. The files stay in your Drive.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. Deleting a shoot removes its records and our thumbnails and previews, and moves its Drive folder to your Drive bin, unless you choose to keep the files in Drive. Your Drive files are yours: closing your ShootWrap account doesn’t touch them.
To delete your account and everything we hold about you, email sjphotography.us@gmail.com from the address on your account. We do it within 30 days. Some billing records may be kept longer where the law requires it.
8. Your choices and rights
You can see and change most of your information in ShootWrap: Settings, your marketplace profile and Billing. You can also ask us to send you a copy of your data, correct it or delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing sjphotography.us@gmail.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), the law may give you more rights. We honour them, and won’t treat you differently for using them.
9. Security
Your Drive folders and files stay private to you and the editors you choose. Client galleries use long, random private links. Thumbnails and previews are served through links that expire. Data travels encrypted (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, though. If something goes wrong that affects your data, we’ll tell you.
10. Where data is processed
ShootWrap and its service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Wherever it’s processed, we protect it as this policy describes.
11. Children
ShootWrap isn’t meant for children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we’ll delete it.
12. Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
